This tea is not only great for arthritis and inflammation, but also, revs up your digestive fire – agni. It’s wonderful for constipation and so healing for the digestive system.
Here are a list of ingredients and why they are golden for your health:
A traditional ayurvedic remedy used for increasing agni, reducing inflammation and enhancing overall health and vitality.
Scientifically proven to reduce pain and inflammation. It is being used extensively to treat arthritis in the medical community as well as to treat wounds, infections, colds and liver disease.
Anti-inflammatory and eases swelling. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and flushes fat.
Heralded for its many health benefits including weight loss, boosting immune system function, hair and skin health, and heart health to name a few. There are literally too many health benefits to name.
Used for an array of digestion problems, including heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bloating and constipation. It is also used for the common cold, bronchitis, sore mouth and throat, and infections.
The King of Spices, and has been hailed for its antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory benefits for centuries.
Used as an expectorant (clears congestion and mucus from the lungs) and to treat an upset stomach, nausea, and inflammation. It is an incredibly healing and protective remedy and staves off illness.
Helps normalise blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels, reduces the risk of chronic illnesses, including Type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It is also anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic.

Raw or Manuka Honey, Maply Syrup or Stevia
* 3 cups of coconut milk (you can substitute hemp or almond milk too)
* 1 cup filtered water (optional depending on your desired thickness)
* 1 inch piece of ginger (sliced thinly)
* 1 inch piece of turmeric root (sliced thinly) or 1 tbsp turmeric
* 7 cardamom seeds
* 7 cloves
* 4 black peppercorns
* 1 cinnamon stick
* dash of nutmeg
* dash of cayenne pepper
* raw honey, maple syrup or stevia to taste
Directions (for 2 cups)
1. Place the cardamom seeds, cloves and peppercorns in a ziplock or cheese bag and crush with a skillet. (or put them in a spice grinder, coffee grinder, or blender)
2. Place all the ingredients (sans the raw honey) into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
3. Remove from heat and strain (in a strainer, coffee filter, or cheesecloth) and add raw honey, maple syrup or stevia to taste.
Note: You can also use the powdered spices instead of the roots, seeds, sticks and peppercorns. But traditionally ayurveda believes that incorporating the “whole” foods gives us more prana (life force energy), potency and effectiveness.
